Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Kate Ruby Day Rogers, age 90, died July 31, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born July 2, 1910 in Highland, Utah, the oldest of 14 children, to Orville Cox and Otes Strasburg Day. She married Ralph W. Rogers May 5, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. He prece-ded her in death on September 18, 1971.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in leadership and teaching positions, including ward organist, which she dearly loved. She served a mission in North Carolina in 1976 and was also a stake missionary. She was a member of the DUP. Kate was a good mother and homemaker and she loved her family and many friends.
Survived by her three daughters, Dorothy (Gary) Astill, Salt Lake City; Aloa (Ray) Phillipps, Holladay; and Winona (Preston) Kofoed, Taylorsville; brothers, Wayne (LaVerle) Day, Highland; Carl (Luella) Day, Highland; Lawrence Day, Roy; sisters, Dora (Don) Bringhurst, Delta; Stella Norman, Salt Lake City; Fern (Jerry) Pace, Highland; Jean (Blaine) Perkins, Highland; Esther (Myron) Smith, Kaysville; Miriam (Charles) Greenland, Orem; 17 grandchildren and 28 great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Max, daughter Annavieve, three brothers, Louis, Melvin, and Walter, and sister Elva.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2000, 11 a.m. at the Central Park Ward, 304 E. 2700 South. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 South, and one hour prior to service at Central Park Ward. Interment: American Fork Cemetery.
