    • Born 3 Jul 1919 (when his mother was 48 years old) and raised in Elwood, Box Elder, Utah. In Elwood Ward: blessed 7 Sep 1919 by father; baptized 3 Jul 1927 (in canal) by H. Peter Rasmussen; confirmed 3 Jul 1927 by V. L. Hansen; ordained a deacon 2 Aug 1931, a teacher 26 May 1935, a priest 20 Sep 1936, all by William C. Pack; ordained an elder 28 May 1939 by father. Graduated from Bear River High School. Received endowments 14 Jan 1940 in St. George Temple because parents were living in St. George at the time. (Sealer: Jesse W. Knight; witnesses: Porter S. Tillotson, Elliot Rich.) Received Patriarchal blessing from Joseph J. Larkin 14 Jan 1940. Fulfilled a mission to the New England States Mission from 1940 to 1942. Was District President of the Maine District.

      From 1943 to 1945 was in U.S. Marine Corps and attended U.S. Navy pilot training. Married Helen Tillotson 14 Mar 1945 in Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake, Utah. Daughter, Karen Lynne, born 14 Feb 1946 in Fitzsimmons, Adams, Colorado. Son, Steven Farrel, born 28 Jun 1947 in Denver, Adams, Colorado. Graduated from Utah State Agricultural College, Logan, Cache, Utah, in 1947. B.S. degree in Agronomy and Soils.

      From 1947 to 1967 was an agronomist for the Utah Idaho Sugar Company in Toppenish, Ellensburg, and Moses Lake, Washington. Lived at 332 Ridge Road, Moses Lake, Washington. Son, Daren Craig, born 14 Jun 1949 in Ellensburg, Kittitas, Washington. Daughter, Denise, born 3 Sep 1952 in Moses Lake, Grant Washington. Ordained a high priest 18 Apr 1954 by Marion G. Romney. Daughter, Diane, born 20 Apr 1955 in Moses Lake, Grant, Washington. Was Branch President at Toppenish, Washington. At Ellensburg, Washington, was District Sunday School president, and counselor in the Branch Presidency. At Moses Lake, Washington, was Elders Quorum President, Sunday School Superintendent, a counselor in the Bishopric, and on Stake High Council.

      From 1967 to 1972 was an agricultural superintendent in the Columbia Basin. Helped establish sugar beets as a major crop in the Columbia Basin Irrigation project. From 1972 to 1979 was a research agronomist for Utah and Idaho. At Sandy, Utah, was High Priest Group Leader. In Brigham City was High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School teacher, and in Stake Sunday Sunday School Presidency. Retired in July 1979. Lived in Brigham City, Utah, for 20 years. From 1979 to 1984 was a chemical technician for Thiokol Corporation in Utah. From 1985 to 1987 served a mission with his wife, Helen, in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission, laboring in Greenock and Thurso areas. From April 1989 to April 1992 was called along with his wife, Helen, to the Name Extraction mission, extracting names from Scandinavian parish records to be entered into the computerized family history records of the church. Moved to St. George and built a new home there in July, 1995. Loved gardening and was always willing to help others with his handyman skills. Had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in choirs and programs until his death. His biggest legacy was his tremendous testimony of Jesus Christ and his unwavering faith in the eternal nature of the family. He was an exemplary father and grandfather. Died 5 Feb 1996 at his home in St. George, Washington, Utah, of pancreatic cancer at age 76. Funeral services were held 10 Feb 1996 in the Brigham City 1st Ward chapel. Was buried in the Tremonton Cemetery, Tremonton, Box Elder l0 Feb 1996. Address at time of death: 1732 W 540 N #13, St. George, Utah 84770.
