There has been a question on the baptismal date of CET; it has been
written to be 7 April 1898, which has been assumed as the baptismal date
because that is the birthdate and father Charles, it has been assumed,
would probably have wanted it then. The correct baptism date is 10
July 1898, with a list of other children baptized at the same time.

Charles Ephraim and Alta Tillotson Family Record and their Book of Remem-
brance in possession of Ruth T. Sandgren at 2175 N. 1450 E. Provo, Utah.

Dad's Ward record states he went to Ogden 4th Ward 28 Feb, 1916; he was
received from Ogden 13th Ward, Ogden Stake, 20 Nov 1919; he moved to
Harrisville Ward North Weber Stake 28 April, 1920.

When the third child Margaret was born in 1923 Charles Ephraim had built
a home in Ogden next to Grandmother Charlotte's home in the middle of the
block between 23 and 24th Streets and Madison and Monroe boulevards.

Charles Ephraim was an Ogden businessman, artist, photo engraver & broom
manufacturer. He also excelled as a fruit raiser, and later a dairyman in
Brigham City. Back om Ogden, became a baker of delicious loaves of hot
whole wheat bread (plain or raisin) well-packaged, labeled and delivered
to Ogden homes, at first. Soon it was all he could do to keep a few
grocery stores well-supplied, as the demand grew. It was then his former
engraving plant was moved to Albuquerque to do the work for a newspaper
as he had in Ogden for the Ogden Standard Examiner.

Ephraim was commissioned by Bishop James H. Martin to paint a mural for the
Ogden 4th Ward baptismal font. It is a beautiful scene of Christ's baptism
with John the Baptist and many other life-size persons, the Jordan River and
      surrounding country.

Mother had these few notes on the back of a biography of Charles E, which I
haven't seen before: Speaking of him when a child, he had many little boy
friends, one especially named Jerald (Anderson) whose mother made kilts alike
for the two of them, which they wore until they were about 3 1/2 years old.

Ephraim remembers especially his first pants. He also remembers: When he was
three years old he was taught to say, "My father has gone on a mission to
preach the Holy Gospel to the Nations of the Earth."

When he was two years old he received his first fright. His father brought a
baloon home and put it on his carriage. When he took a hold of it the air
escaped and he was frightened by the noise.

His first big Christmas gift was a fine rocking horse given by his grandfather
after his father returned from his mission to England.

One pleasant memory, while living in the country, was hearing the sweet notes
of a coronet floating through the still night air. . . . and wishing that he
might some day give someone the same happiness by playing the instrument.
