    • Charles was a carpenter. They had their first four children in Gunnison, Utah. Later the family moved to Tremonton, Box Elder, Utah (1919-20). This is where the rest of the children were born. The family had a turkey farm in Tremonton. The family was very poor, so the children had to use and make due with hand-me downs from the older children in the family. Being poor was hard on the younger children, as they were being teased a lot while going to school. Jennie Caroloine died on 23 Jan 1934 leaving her husband to raise six of the living children. Their first daughter Lillie swallowed an open safety pin and died on 18 Aug 1916. Their last child died at 3 months.
