A BLESSING given by HYRUM G. SMITH, Patriarch, upon the head of DORA PEARL (DAY) RAWLINSON, daughter of ELI AZARIAH DAY and ELIZA JANE (STOKER) DAY, born MARCH 4th, 1887, at FAIRVIEW, SANPETE COUNTY, UTAH.

SISTER RAWLINSON:  In the name of Jesus Christ I place my hands upon thy head and give unto thee a blessing for thy comfort and benefit because of they faithfulness.  And say unto thee, be of good cheer, for the Lord has seen thy trials; He has accepted thy sacrifices; and they devotion in His service has pleased Him.  Therefore, rejoice in they blessings, and thou shalt be comforted in the answers to thy prayers and receive the strength both of body and of mind which will be necessary for thee to go forth and perform thy duties and fulfil thy mission upon the earth.  And if thou hold sacred thy covenants and continue to be prudent in the use of thy time and talents, teaching and defending the Truth, both to friends and to strangers wherever thy lot may be cast they name shall live in loving remembrance, and they labors be a joy and a comfort unto thee.  And thou need not labor alone nor in vain, but shall be guided and directed in the paths of duty and safety, and shall enjoy the fruits of thy labors in righteousness.  Thou shalt also find friends wherever thy lot may be cast and need not suffer want for the necessities of life.  Continue, therefore, to hold sacred thy covenants and to strive to know thy duties and to perform them in prudence and in humility, and thou shalt be warned of danger in time to avoid it both for thyself and for thy children; and thou shalt enjoy the fruits of thy labors as a teacher and as an exemplar, and shall receive the blessings of those among whom thou shalt labor.  Thou shalt also be permitted to labor in the House of the Lord in the interest of friends and kindred who have departed this life without the blessings of the Gospel, and in this labor thou shalt rejoice both in this life and in the life to come.  Be not easily discouraged, but look upon the bright side of life cultivating the Spirit of cheerfulness, and thou shalt be blessed and comforted and sustained, and live and fulfil thy mission in honor, and rejoice with thy loved ones both in this life and in the life to come.  For thy life is precious in the sight of the Lord.  Thou art of the lineage of Ephraim; numbered among the chosen and the promised, and as long as thou art true and faithful thy blessings will be forthcoming day and night year in and year out until thy mission upon the earth is fully accomplished.

And I seal this blessing upon thy head through thy faithfulness.  And seal thee up even unto eternal life, to come forth in a glorious Resurrection in thy proper place, with thy kindred and loved ones, among the redeemed and glorified of Israel, by virtue of the Holy Priesthood and in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
