Jane Louise Cole (age 8) came across the plains in the Edward Hunter-Joseph Horne Company which consisted of 197 individuals and 72 wagons. The journey began 17 June 1847 from the outfitting post on the Elkhorn River about 27 miles west of Winter Quarters, Nebraska, and arrived in the Salt Lake Valley 29 Sep 1847.
