      Open house held for Mary Ann Francom 26 Feb 1956 in honor of her 85th birthday. Held at Virgil Francom's home in Tremonton, Utah.

      Mother loved to cook and sew. One of my earliest memories is of the family sitting around the table eating. We always turned our chairs around and knelt to say our prayers. I remember peeking while the prayer was being said. It was a happy time sitting around the table. We ate good except Mother didn't always have the right things to cook. We kept our potatoes in the cellar. I loved her plum pudding, but it was very rich.

      She would bake 12 loaves of bread twice a week. She sold eggs, so we couldn't eat all we wanted. I remember the first washing machine she had.

      At Christmas time, our presents were hid behind the couch.

      Mother would visit with the children to teach them gospel principles.
